Application

Designed for transportation of loosened rocks in severe mining conditions of deep open-pit mines on technological haul roads under various climatic operating conditions. These trucks can be used in construction of large industrial structures and hydraulic facilities, and in construction of highway systems as well as in technological departments of the enterprises of processing industry. Depending on relative density of the transported materials maximal efficiency is achieved during operation with excavators and loaders with the following bucket capacity: 4-8 m³.

Engine

Diesel engines with electronic control and central switching-off impeller of cooling system provide high specific power and consequently high speed of dump truck when driving uphill, as well as high fuel efficiency.

To facilitate starting of the engine at low temperatures mining dump trucks are equipped with engine liquid preheater, which provides heating of diesel fuel and coolant at starting of the engine.

Frame and Body

Long operating life of dump trucks is attained due to application of high-strength materials for frame and body manufacturing.

General advantages

As a basis for the development of BELAZ-7544 series dump trucks, the direction was taken to improve the design of components and systems in order to meet the newly imposed international requirements for safety, ecology and ergonomics, as well as increase of the truck service life by at least 150,000 kilometers compared to the dump trucks BELAZ-7540 series, due to application of new design solutions for the frame, suspension, optimization of the design of components and systems with partial unification with dump truck series BELAZ-7540 and BELAZ-7545.

BELAZ-75440 is developed according to the classic 4x2 wheel formula. Significant structural changes were made to the suspension guiding apparatus, frame, and fender group. During the development several design flaws were eliminated taking into account the accumulated operating experience of BELAZ-7540 dump trucks.

The design of the dump truck is well suited for loading by both excavator and front-end loader.

Hydraulic System

Integrated hydraulic system, designed with application of unified elements, provides structural simplicity and minimal power loss.

Provides cooling of oil without application of radiator in the design.

Hydromechanical Transmission

Hydromechanical transmission allows to choose the optimal traction and speed mode of motion which makes it easy to drive the vehicle and ensures safety.

Multiple-disk oil-cooled brakes

Due to increased efficiency of the multiple-disk oil-cooled brakes and forced cooling system the average technical speed when driving on a slope is increased by 10...20%.
The response time of the multiple-disk oil-cooled brakes in the retarder mode is reduced by 4–5 times in comparison with the hydrodynamic retarder.
The nominal braking torque of the service and auxiliary brakes is increased.
Application of the multiple-disk oil-cooled brakes increases reliability of equipment and safety of operation.

Steering

Hydrostatic steering provides ease of control and high maneuverability of the truck.
